Ukraine declined Gazprom’s offer regarding natural gas price in the third quarter and stopped buying Russian gas. Russia wanted $247 per 1000 m3 but Ukraine considered $205 as fair price.
Currently more than half of Ukrainian natural gas import is coming from Europe. It corresponds to requirement of recently adopted law on natural gas market which doesn’t allow monopoly of gas supply. In April Ukrainian Cabinet of Ministers approved forecast for natural gas demand in 2015 – 40 billion m3, including 15 billion m3 of import. Read more at http://uaenergy.com.ua
