EBRD President Sir Suma Chakrabarti referred to the current Ukrainian government as "the most reform-minded government that Ukraine has known. Indeed, it is one of the most professional administrations that we in the EBRD have ever worked with”, when he was talking earlier this week to the Ukrainian-Canadian Congress and the University of Toronto.
He mentioned specifically the progress made by the Ukrainian government in spheres such as energy security, gas tariffs, fiscal reform, the rule of law, public procurement and cleaning up the financial system.Since 1992, when Ukraine joint EBRD, cumulative Bank's investment in the country exceeded €10.4 billion and 344 projects were implemented. At a time of conflict and economic crisis, the EBRD invested €1.2 billion in Ukraine in 2014, more than in any other single year since it started operating in the country.
